Dear Sir;

It is with disappointment that I read your editorial today in the Province, where you have incorrectly stated that the Unity Party is formerly The Reform Party of BC. This statement is absolutely untrue.

The Unity Party is a collection of a few former members of the Reform Party of BC, and the Family Coalition Party. Unfortunately, our past President Chris Delaney, and former Leader Bill Vander Zalm, took it upon themselves to attempt to go against the wishes of the majority of the Reformers for their own personal reasons. The Reform Party has never been a religious party, and the majority of the membership refused to accept the inclusion of religion and anti-abortion issues in Reform principles. Bill Vander Zalm and Chris Delaney have attempted to destroy Reform in order to build Unity. They have used Reform resources, membership lists and funds illegally.

As an astute editorialist, you must be aware that the Reform Party has filed a petition with the Supreme Court of BC. We have found many inconsistencies in Elections BC’s forensic audit of the financial records of the Delta South by-election. We have also found that the auditor, Ron Parks of Kroll Lindquist Avey {the firm} has reallocated and realigned figures from our initial report to reflect overspending of the Party. This information is on our website in it’s entirety. {www.reformbc.net}

The Reform Party members are a feisty bunch of people, and we will survive. We have candidates standing, and a few in the wings, so don’t bury us just yet!

I hope you will print a retraction regarding Reform BC, and I would hope that we may get support from the media. Please call either myself, or Ron Gamble for further information.

Sincerely yours
Shirley Abraham 604-594-8688
