Coquitlam-250 respondents in Kamloops and Kamloops N. Thompson were contacted between May 12-15 2003 regarding matters pertaining to the sale (lease) of the Coquihalla Highway.

Highlights

Respondents are mad as hell at the BC Liberals over the proposed sale (lease) of the Coquihalla Highway. Whether or not the residents of Kamloops and Kamloops N. Thompson will “take it any more” may be another question altogether.

Question #1
Do you agree or disagree with the proposed sale (lease) of the Coquihalla Highway as announced recently by the BC Liberal government?

Disagree 94%

Agree 06 %

Question #2
If an election were held tomorrow which of the following BC political parties would you cast your vote?

BC Liberal (36%) Reform BC (23%) NDP (18%) Green Party (11%) Unity Party (5%) none of these (7%)

Commentary

If the BC Liberals were seriously considering selling (leasing) the Coquihalla Highway they should reconsider the political cost-benefit analysis. These two BC ‘bellwethers’ may still be in BC Liberal hands after the deal is originally done, but don’t bet on it come 2005.
