For more than 25 years, BC Reformers have been working to bring Clarity, Transparency and Accountability from the Legislature to the citizens of British Columbia.

Politicians too soon forget that they are elected to represent British Columbians not government insiders and their off-balance sheet partners.

The Reform Party of British Columbia (Reform BC) was registered in 1983 and in 1991 established itself as a provincial party by running four candidates. In 1994 Reform BC was officially recognized, by having four elected members sitting in the Legislature.

Ron Gamble, former Leader and now President of Reform BC, was co-founder of the Reform Party of Canada. Ron, business owner of Gamble Foods and Consolidated Beverages, is semi-retired at the age of 70 years.

David Hawkins forensic economist, one who follows the money, has a first class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering, Cambridge University, Diploma in Industrial Management, Cambridge University and a Foundation Scholarship, Queens’ College, Cambridge University, for outstanding academic performance in Applied Mathematics and Thermodynamics (The science of Hot Air, Waste and Chaos!). David’s career has taken him to work in three industries; electricity generation, oilfield exploration and the computer science of virtual prototyping and geophysical data analysis, on six continents. www.hawkscafe.com

Now, more than ever, we need a third voice in the legislature. Both parties, the NDP and the BC Liberals have failed in bringing transparency to its citizens. They have contributed to the loss of thousands of jobs by giving away our major resources; Hydro, natural gas and CN Rail’s probably-illegal acquisition of BC Rail, all given away to off-shore or out of province companies.

The two parties’ leaders have betrayed the public trust; they have signed secret private deals; they have connived at the non-disclosure of public-private partnerships (P3s), they have amplified mismanagement of security and costs of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics – $6 billion debt and climbing – and, in a fundamental breach of their fiduciary obligations, they have delegated the management of bcIMC, the $85 billion provincial pension and insurance fund, out of sight and scrutiny of the B.C. Legislature in the custody of RBC-Dexia Investor Services, a U.K. based Global Custodian.

The bcIMC funds are being ‘gamed’ in un-audited high-risk hedge-fund transactions which are coordinated by RBC-Dexia and its agents, including the newly bankrupt BearingPoint (previously KPMG Consulting) and the Sidley Austin law firm, a U.S. designer of ‘abusive’ tontine-insurance, tax-shelter and sub-prime mortgage schemes. These are the people who have tricked or trapped the B.C. government into participation in a carbon-emission cap and trade market, a market manipulated by insiders of the Chicago Climate Exchange, including Al Gore and Maurice Strong, without transparency and the knowledge or consent of British Columbians; any permutation of their carbon taxes, caps or trades is a fraud on government and Reform will demand its repeal.

Electing one more NDP or BC Liberal in the next May 12 provincial election will do diddly-squat for you over the next four years.

Asking and demanding what you want will not change any direction of the next four years unless you have people in the legislature who think like you do and can do what you know must be done.

By electing a dozen Reformers to the Legislature, you will receive better representation than you have received in the past eight years.
